On the road above Sykeside Park nestles the newly refurbished Brotherswater Inn.
The two upper storeys of the Inn have been converted into six smart, new bedrooms. Each has a wash hand basin and full bedding, including duvets. Ample showers and toilets are outside the bedrooms.
The Bar, now in rich colours, has comfortable seating. This takes advantage of the three huge picture windows overlooking Dove Crag, Hart Crag and Fairfield in the distance.
Sykeside Park is 200 metres away. There, laundry and drying facilities are available, as are the Barn End Bar and the Shop, which opens 8am to 8pm in summer and on request in winter.
Brotherswater Inn is a good centre for touring the Lake District, walking on the mighty fells or just plain relaxing.
Breakfast is served from 8.15am to 10am. Snacks and bar meals are available during the day and evening meals are served from 6pm to 9.30pm.
Between the Bar at Brotherswater and Barn End Bar at Sykeside, you will find at least 120 different whiskies from all over the world. It's worth a visit just to sample some of them!
