A popular form of accommodation is the Bunkhouse which can best be described as camping without the tent. The Bunkhouse consists of several rooms containing between two and six beds. These rooms are centrally heated, carpeted and contain a table, chairs and storage facilities. The pine bunk beds are intended for use with residents' own sleeping bags (a limited number are available for hire from the shop).
The Bunkhouse is placed well off the main road adjacent to Sykeside Camping Park and facilities. It consists of several rooms, sleeping between 3 and 6 persons each, all with 2ft x 6ft pine bunkbeds. Each room is fitted with carpets and central heating. Each bed comes equipped with bottom sheet, blanket, pillow and case. Included in each room is a table and seats plus storage facilities. It is anticipated that clients will supply their own sleeping bags but a limited supply is available for hire from the site shop.
At the entrance to the 1st floor bunkhouse is an indoor area for your use (please bring your own cooking equipment and utensils) or use our bar and restaurant for breakfast and bar meals. All the bedrooms have separate locks and residents are provided with a key for their own room and one for the main door. The Bunkhouse is constructed of local stone and is fitted with fire and smoke protection.
The facilities at Sykeside include toilets, showers, razor / power points etc. Sinks with hot water 24 hours a day, dish-washing area, washing machines and driers. Fully stocked shop open daily 8.00am - 8.00pm during the summer and on request in the winter and 'The Barn End', our bar and restaurant for breakfast and bar meals etc.
The complete Bunkhouse can be booked by bona fide groups having two persons directly responsible and named on the advanced booking form. These two people must be staying in the Bunkhouse with the group. In all cases advanced booking is advised.
Patrons are reminded that all beds not taken are available to let. If a group of less than the room capacity wishes to have the room to themselves, then the rate per room will be changed.
Any request to alter the original booking must be make at least 14 days prior to the arrival date. This form updates any queries on the colour brochure.
Each room is now fitted with it's own toilet and wash basin.
One of the great attractions of an outdoor holiday is the campfire social life at the end of the day. Unfortunately, the British weather doesn't always cooperate. But at the Sykeside there is no need to huddle in your tent of an evening. The Barn End bar and restaurant, exclusively for the use of Sykeside residents, offers a warm, cosy and congenial atmosphere whether you're having a full meal or just popping in for a quick drink
The self-service Sykeside Shop caters for the majority of campers' needs. It sells food, fresh produce, camping equipment and supplies, maps and guides and has an off-licence. It is open between 8.00am and 8.00pm during the Summer and on request during the Winter.
