CLASSES
OF BOAT (Subject to alteration)
WHAMMEL/POSTBOAT
Based
on a traditional Scan dinavi an/Shetla nd design, these keelboats
are stable for sailing in strong winds or with small children aboard.
They can easily be beached for picnics.
WAYFARER
These are perhaps the best known of tuition dinghies, being
steady with very reasonable performance.
GP14/SEAFLY
These are slightly smaller than the Wayfarer and are lighter
and more sensitive to sail. They are used throughout the week, both
for beginners and more experienced sailors
LASER II/MAYFLY
Fairly moderate performance used extensively towards the latter
half of courses.
LUNE PILOTS
Steady boats ideally suited to early sessions without the instructor.
Often used for individual tuition.
LASER/LASER II/BYTE
Relatively high performance single handers, stable and fun
to sail.
OPTIMIST
Classic children's dinghy.
