Getting to The Lake District

Trains
The nearest BR railway station to The Lake District is Oxenholme. It is on the West Coast main line. Services run between London Euston and Glasgow running every hour. There are also Express Routes. Timetable information is available from Railtrack.

Airports
Just over an hours drive from South Lakeland Manchester Airport serves most world locations.
Newcastle Airport is situated some 6 miles north-west of Newcastle and is smaller than Manchester.
